Matthew M. Williams has revealed Givenchy‘s FW23 menswear campaign, shot by the creative director, starring K-Pop star and ambassador of the House, Taeyang.
Shot in Seoul, against minimalist backdrops Williams’ latest collection is given prominence, highlighting the designer’s vision of new elegance. In one image, Taeyang wears an immaculately tailored black suit crafted in Givenchy’s men’s couture atelier, while in another this season’s camouflage motif is worn across trousers, highlighting Williams’ signature hybridisation of denim with the Japanese boro “tattered and repaired” technique.
“Taeyang is a friend, and to me his creativity and personal values make him an ideal ambassador for Givenchy,” says Williams. “You can feel his presence: he has this easy, modern elegance and an edge – he clearly feels comfortable in the clothes and really personifies the House’s new aesthetic.”
