I Dreamt of Loewe

Jonathan Anderson teases his SS24 Loewe collection via a Luca Guadagnino short film

What’s the best way to preview your upcoming collection? How about with a short film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino? Yeah, that’s pretty damn good, and it’s exactly how Jonathan Anderson is teasing his upcoming Loewe SS24 menswear collection.

I Dreamt of Loewe is set in David Zwirner New York amidst the gallery’s recent exhibition of works by the Austrian artist Franz West. Over just two minutes, the film unfolds as a psychedelic dream featuring models Andrea Isidori, Elliott McDean, Malick Anderson and Adrians Smats, all dressed in Loewe’s forthcoming runway collection – set to be shown during Paris Fashion Week on June 24th.

So what do we get a glimpse of? Well, apart from lots of skin and homoerotic imagery, that is. It looks like Anderson is still on a quest to bring back bootcut denim jeans and black shoes, a staple of jeans and sheux-core that seems rife for a revival. Elsewhere, some cut-out woollen cardigans and huge Elton John-esque sunglasses fit nicely within Anderson’s vision for Loewe as a heritage brand gone rogue.

Oh, and don’t forget, we’ll be reporting on the full Loewe SS24 menswear show right here on June 24th – set the alert.
