Dial it up to 11 and riff loud on your brand new Saint Laurent Rive Droite x Fender guitar. Yes that’s correct, storied Parisian fashion house meets legendary musical instrument crafters on a limited edition Stratocaster, ’65 Deluxe Reverb amp, and celluloid guitar picks.
Reinterpreting these classics, the expertise of Fender’s innovative luthiers combines with Saint Laurent’s sleek, rebellious codes to create an all-black kit ready to rip up the stage. The Strat is built with an alder body, maple 60s Oval “C”-shaped neck, ebony fingerboard, sterling silver dot inlays and – get this – pickups decorated with black lipstick covers. Plugged in, the ’65 Deluxe Reverb amp is a timeless Fender signature, recognised for its vintage mid-60s sound and decorated with a YSL logo.
It’s a collaboration that nods to Saint Laurent’s sonic heritage: Yves Saint Laurent asked Grace Jones to perform at his 1978 show in Paris’ Le Palace, and, most famously, dressed Mick and Bianca Jagger in matching white suits for their 1971 wedding.
Available exclusively in SLRD stores in Paris and Los Angeles. Only 10 guitars have been made worldwide. Additional can be made again upon request.
