By Alex James Taylor | Art | 9 March 2023

Since launching in 2020, Nick Cave‘s Cave Things online store has been an eclectic one-stop shop for all things weird and wonderful. We’ve had devil milk jugs, red hand charm necklaces and hand-drawn dog posters – amongst so much more. Now, Cave Things is taking a leap to the physical world, taking up residency at Dover Street Market with an exclusive installation.

Opening on the 17th March, the store is designed as a “fusion between intimate residence and shop.” Bringing a sense of Cave’s personal life to the Dover Street Market shopfloor, the pop-up is designed with “personal touches that reference Nick and his wife Susie’s home, including their inimitable use of playful pink.”

On sale will be a range of unique products curated by Nick, from clothing to books, homeware, prints and limited-edition vinyl, alongside a very special line of products exclusive to Dover Street Market. What’s more, for the first time ever, the Cave Things archive opens its gilded doors to re-introduce several sellout items, including limited edition Polaroids and four picture discs.

Celebrating the pop-up opening, Nick will be hosting a very special book signing event on Sunday 19th March, autographing copies of his newest children’s book The Little Thing Is Sad, which tells the story of The Little Thing, who wakes up miserable and discovers the remedy is held by the thing that lives in the cave. Don’t have any kids? I wouldn’t worry, It’s a Nick Cave book, it transcends age.
