Eberhard Havekost joins the four-timer club with another exhibition open now at White Cube Mason’s Yard. One of his largest solo exhibitions to date, Cosmos Now is an oil on canvas pilgrimage through an array of mundane objects brought to life. A piece of paper, a flatscreen TV – anything is fair game for inspiration.

Two of his paintings, Kosmos (2011) and Jetzt (2010) lend their names to the exhibition’s title, Cosmos Now. Placed “high on the wall”, the paintings are scattered in a farrago of sense and chaos, an altarpiece asking “how much visual information we need before a painting can be read as an image.” Seemingly random subjects pony up to offer a panorama of Havekost’s oeuvre.
