A genderless blueprint guides the MM6 Maison Margiela FW22 collection: clothing designed to be worn by all, to be swapped and borrowed, layered and edited.

Inspired by glimpses of city commuters in motion, angles, shapes and rhythms blur and morph as daily life becomes elevated to avant-garde proportions. Post-lockdown, the furious speed of city life restarts with new verve and the uniforms of city commuters and financial workers became distorted, abstract visions, warped and moulded to an MM6 beat.

Eschewing traditional gendered codes, conceptual thinking driven by the house’s exquisite savoir-faire presents an offering for experimentation and individuality. Structured (or indeed not) by generous tailoring and bold outerwear, peak lapels are drawn big, leather boots mean business and conceptual cut-outs come to life. Twisted knitwear draws new silhouettes, shoulders slope into angular definitions and snakeskin illustrations slither up tailored arms and leather blazer sleeves.

Captured in the new issue of HERO, embrace the MM6 way of life through our exclusive story below.
