Love me not

Coco Capitán draws all over this new Charles & Keith capsule collaboration

Charles & Keith have teamed up with Spanish-born artist Coco Capitán for a special collaboration. Here, two of the accessories brand’s signature silhouettes – the Perline Penny Loafers  and the Double Handle Sculptural Tote Bag – became a canvas for Capitán’s emotive prose and illustration.

Inspired by the child’s game of ‘He loves me, he loves me not,’ Capitán creates her own line, “Loves Me Blue, Love Me Blue Not”, in reference to hand-stitched blue daisies decorating the brand’s Perline Penny Loafers, while across the Double Handle Sculptural Tote Bag, a story unfolds of a solitary blue flower emerging through concrete. Deliberately uneven stitching gives the collection a spontaneity that mirrors Capitan’s wording while the artist also reimagines the brand’s san-serif logo with her signature script.

“My art is inspired by overheard conversations, diary entries, and sudden waves of introspection. I believe that words can transcend cultures and give us a glimmer of hope for brighter times,” said Capitán of her work.
