Tricky winger
With Marcus Rashford already a firm Burberry ambassador, it seems that the British fashion house is steadily formed an incredible five-a-side team with the latest addition of Tottenham Hotspur’s sensational winger Son Heung-min.
Having finished the 2021/2022 Premier League season as the first Asian player to win the Golden Boot award (shared with Liverpool’s Mo Salah), helping Spurs bag Champions League qualification for next season, it’s been a memorable season for the South Korean footballer. And all this only two years after having to pause his football to carry out mandatory military service for South Korea, serving with the Marine Cops.
For his first role as Burberry ambassador, Son is photographed in three looks: a black nylon and cotton hooded jacket with cargo trousers and sneakers; an archive Burberry Check nylon hooded jacket and matching shorts; and a camel hair and wool sleeveless tailored coat from the pre-Fall/Winter 2022 collection.
“I’m happy to be the new ambassador for Burberry,” says Son. “Being an athlete from the British Premier League, it’s my honour to partner with a brand so rich in British heritage. I love Burberry’s strive for imagination and innovation which has been deeply inherited in its history, which are values that I champion. I’m very excited for our newfound journey that we will together develop.”
