star power
Palace Skateboards has unveiled the name of the fashion giant responsible for co-creating their latest drop – available in stores at the end of this week – does the name Calvin Klein ring any bells?
Hopping continents, oceans, and cultural landscapes, the two have managed to bottle up the high-octane energies of London and New York for a capsule that embraces both individuality and inclusion. With Alasdair McLellan behind the lens, a familiar host of city-dwelling icons have joined ranks to sport the forthcoming range of minimalistic clobber, with the likes of Palace’s Lev Tanju and Lucien Clarke, Lourdes Leon, Precious Lee and the Pet Shop Boys getting all dressed up in embroidered pull-overs, refined undergarments and dark denim two-sets.
Dame Joan Collins also joins in on the festivities, resplendent in a fur boa and gown that unfortunately won’t be included in Friday’s drop. Another legend of the screen (and Prada runway), Willem Defoe, is also present, fronting the collab’s accompanying fashion film as the quintessentially chatty New York cab driver.

In order to appropriately balance out Klein’s American heritage and Palace’s skating roots, the pair have also brought Vans onboard to create their own exclusive sneaker for the occasion – an understated logo print slip-on which they have aptly dubbed the ‘Calvan’. And to finally top it all off, the collaboration throws it right back to the nineties with CK One, the world’s first unisex scent, getting an aromatic remix by the Palace crew. Including notes of frosted mandarin, fresh violet leaf and a sensuous oakmoss base, it would seem this unassuming duo has thought of, well, everything.
