Y-3 returns with its second seasonal offering for SS22, punctuated by the bright and blooming flowers of springtime.
Rousing us from our collective winter slump, the brand is exploring its future by reimagining staples of era’s bygone, following on from their recent ‘20 Years: Re-Coded’ celebrations. A spirit of “Transformative Optimism” underscores the whole endeavour, with an enigmatic and fairly hazy campaign shot by Charlotte Wales capturing Y-3’s army of hyperactive movers making waves in the brand’s latest pieces.
Of the many relaxed and cosy fits featured, all in a brighter than bright colour palette of vivid cyans, sea greens and fresh cream, one distinct floral print seen on windbreakers and the Y-3 MAKURA is actually an intricate merging of six popular prints from the brand’s past into one cohesive body. Elsewhere, a pair of Y-3 trainers are stripped back to their core with Adidas’ iconic 3-stripe logo being formed from a decorative coral running stitch, which eventually weaves itself into the shoes’ own comfy, waffle sole.
With a wide range of accessories also hitting stores, from bags caps and bucket hats to socks, belts, towels, and even bathrobes, it’s clear the brand has taken immense care to ensure their durable and lightweight products stand the test of time.
