French footballing sensation Kylian Mbappé has been recruited as the new face of Hublot watches.

Already an icon of the game at the age of 23, the Paris Saint-Germain winger stands at the vanguard of a new generation taking the sport to new levels (his PSG contract is up this summer and he’s certainly not short of suiters). Here, photographed by Ezra Petronio, Mbappé is captured through a series of relaxed, contemporary portraits wearing the Swiss watch company’s latest timepieces. Used to stepping foot on the sports field, Hublot has worked with key events like the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions Leage and UEFA Euro, while Mbappé joins previous Hublot sporting ambassadors Pelé, Usain Bolt, Chiara Ferragni and Novak Djokovic.

“It was an honour to work on this project, to address the relationship we have with time. I love simplicity, and thebeauty of lasting things that have soul,” said Mbappé of his latest role

Of photographing the footballer, Petronio said: “What I love more than anything when creating a portrait is to capture that spark that is unique to each one of us –whatever that may be. And to evoke emotion in the viewer so that nothing can distract the gaze from the essence of the subject.

What fascinates me about Kylian – apart from his creativity, virtuosity and the perfection of his art – is his passion, his intelligence and the inner strength that drives him.”
