KARL LAGERFELD STORE OPENING LONDON

It’s not hard to feel impelled to follow cues from the man who once said, “Don’t dress to kill, dress to survive”. The opening of the new Karl Lagerfeld European flagship on London’s Regent Street last week perhaps gives its own cue: ‘live a little, treat yourself’.

Eccentric, without doubt, but Karl Lagerfeld heads up the design helms of two of the world’s largest luxury houses and boasts his own monolithic business to boot – mean feats not to be sniffed at. And when the man opens a two-floor, 250-square-metre space in one of London’s hottest retail precincts, its just another notch in one very long, black belt.

The space itself aims to encapsulate the ‘World of Karl Lagerfeld’, encompassing ready-to-wear alongside leather goods, watches, eyewear, scarves, footwear as well as limited editions. The store launch also kicked off a special London inspired collection, with military and rock influences splashed across a variety of capsule pieces. Rock on, Karl.
