“Critiqua calms my mind anytime I’m overthinking or being too hard on myself for no reason,” Brooklyn’s Junglepussy tells us of her latest track, the lead single from her forthcoming project Jp5000 (out 4th February). We premiere the accompanying video here.

Arriving two years after the musician’s genre-warping album Jp4, this time Junglepussy is looking inwards and, more importantly, giving us a glimpse. Critiqua is an opener with purpose. Rapping over a smooth, Latin guitar line, Junglepussy’s lyrics celebrate her worth, while pushing aside those unappreciative: “Golly I just want the knowledge not the D/Don’t project your problems on top of me.”
Portrayed by a cinematic video with b-movie sensibilities and a series of exquisite outfits – a lipstick red skin-tight latex jumpsuit, a furry Joker-hued suit and a bejewelled body harness with matching head jewellery and nails – Critiqua promises that Jp5000 will be a work of explosive tenacity: pure Junglepussy.
