Fendi celebrates the Year of the Tiger
Fashion | 7 January 2022

1st February marks the Chinese New Year, and 2022’s zodiac representative is the tiger: a symbol of leadership, courage and risk-taking. Qualities also engrained in Fendi’s DNA, the Roman fashion house is celebrating the occasion with a special capsule collection dedicated to those born in the Year of the Tiger.

Populated by an orange tiger print animalier motif inspired by the Siberian tigers found in the northeastern region of China, this big cat’s stripes define the collection, decorating casual tees, sweatshirts, hoodies, knits and outerwear. While on foot, the new Fendi Match sneakers also get the tiger print treatment alongside the Maison’s signature bag range.

Here, the house’s FF logo also gets a special twist, as traditional flowers signifying New Year’s Day and Spring Festival – including the cineraria, signifying happiness, prosperity and peacefulness, and the lily, a symbol of beauty and nobility – intertwine with the iconic motif.

Capturing the spirit of the collection, the accompanying campaign features Fendi’s Greater China Men’s Collection Spokesperson Jackson Wang, musician and founder of record label Team Wang, and dancer Joni, who showcase the pieces against a backdrop of red carved ancient Chinese windows, a symbol of auspiciousness.

The Fendi 2022 Spring Festival Exclusive Capsule Collection is available in selected boutiques worldwide and at fendi.com and fendi.cn.
