The trailer for Disney+ and Hulu’s Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee biopic has finally dropped, and as per, the Internet has a lot to say about it.

For those of you unfamiliar with their story, Baywatch star Pamela Anderson (played by Lily James) and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee (Sebastian Stan) were one of the It-couples of the nineties. The pair struck up a whirlwind romance at the end of 1994, and decided to jet off to Cancun for a romantic getaway after six weeks of knowing each other, tying the knot just days into the trip.

With the world at their feet, it wouldn’t be long before a disgruntled contractor, portrayed in the forthcoming production by Seth Rogen, stole a private video the pair made on their Honeymoon at Lake Mead and effectively kickstarted the phenomenon of the celebrity sex tape. At first, its spread was minimal, a myth of VHS folklore heard only in seedy bars and man-caves, but that all changed in 1997 when the tape hit the Internet, making its way around the world in a matter of minutes as the couple watched on in horror.

The series is set to explore the unfolding chaos in considerable length across a backdrop of sunny LA skies and the wild-west of the early Internet. And despite the valid furore regarding Pamela Anderson’s non-involvement in the show, which included a particularly damning Instagram post from the Queen of the nineties herself, Courtney Love, many hope the series will too address the toxic media culture that made this act of theft into such an egregious spectacle, something fellow victims like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian have spoken about in length in recent years.

Pam and Tommy premieres with three episodes on February 2nd on Disney+ and Hulu, with new episodes available to stream weekly.
