Next week sees the highly-anticipated release of Peter Jackson’s three-part Disney+ documentary, The Beatles: Get Back, which transports us back to Apple Studio, London, 1969, as the Beatles create their final record together, Let It Be, and then go upstairs to the Savile Row building’s rooftop to play their first live show in over two years (and last as a foursome).

Marking the three-time Academy-Award winning director’s latest work, Stella McCartney has built a special unisex capsule collection dedicated to the doc and celebrating her father’s iconic band.

Inspired by the shared wardrobe of her mum and dad (Paul and Linda McCartney, in case you didn’t know), Stella outlines a signature relaxed silhouette adorned with classic Beatles iconography and typography. While tripped-out psychedelic prints created by the house’s long-time collaborators, The Fool Collective, nod to the Liverpool group’s strong psych influences and sounds. Varsity jackets are cast in neutral tones and printed with mirrored Sgt. Pepper imagery, as tie-dye hoodies offer an alternative Beatles logo alongside galaxy wash organic denim, jacquard slogan jumper, knit tracksuits and a patchwork cardigan coat.

“To me, Get Back is about so much more than just a song or a concert,” says McCartney of Jackson’s documentary, “It’s the timeless story of lifelong friends coming together to create something incredible with laughter and utter fearlessness whilst standing at the forefront of change.

Peter (Jackson) did a two hour edit for close friends and family, so we all watched it together. It was a moment I’ll never forget, being in a room with those people, it all just felt very emotional to be able to watch it together. I think he did the most wonderful job to bring across the true warmth, camaraderie and creative genius that defines the bands legacy and it gives such an intimate insight into that special period. It’s also one of my favourite songs, so after watching the documentary I just knew I had to do something, so that’s where the capsule was born. I wanted to look beyond literal references and instead take the spirit of everything about the Beatles and what that moment was and celebrate it.”
