As those cold winter months creep up, Jil Sander are pulling us through the snow via a new link-up with Arc’teryx, the Canada-based high-performance outerwear specialists.

Honing in on a variety of winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and mountain sports, the collaboration sees Sander’s husband-and-wife duo Lucie and Luke Meier devise a unisex capsule made with the stylish explorer in mind. “We both grew up spending time in the mountains enjoying winter sports but we could never find garments that balanced high performance with high aesthetic quality,” the pair said. “Eventually, with Arc’teryx, a company we have always admired for their rigour and commitment to research, we had the chance to design them.”

Marking the occasion in freezing fashion, the pair have released a short film shot by director Stephen Kidd and scored by Biosphere, putting their minimal mix of insulating zip-up overalls, lengthy parkas and sleek shell jackets to test in the thick winter snow. Here’s to hoping those Elton-esque circular ski-goggles will be in the next drop…
