In anticipation of next month’s Pride 2021 – a much-needed celebration of vibrancy and life – Balenciaga will be launching a special capsule collection honouring the event and the communities it champions.

Designed by Demna Gvasalia, the capsule boasts a range of casual wardrobe fillers – tees, hoodies, baseball caps, underwear, bracelets, and fake fur coin purses – adorned with rainbow flag details and varsity-style lettering that spells out a combination of the words: Gay Pride Balenciaga 2021. Elsewhere, a magnetic metal pride brooch is Demna’s interpretation of the recognised looped ribbon pin that represents awareness and solidarity.

The collection is presented (below) through imagery that transports models to iconic locations across the world via the magic of technology, symbolising global solidarity.

Committed to the cause, fifteen percent of all sales from the collection will be donated to The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organisation working on a mission to end LGBTQ+ youth suicide.

The Gay Pride Balenciaga 2021 collection will be released in June online and in stores.
