Mr Porter launches a menswear mentorship looking for original voices
By Alex James Taylor | Fashion | 26 April 2021

Aspiring designers, listen up: Mr Porter has launched a new mentorship project scouting new menswear design talent from outside the fashion mainstream.

Titled Mr Porter Futures and founded to mark the brand’s 10th anniversary, the initiative offers a vital step up for young designers looking to carve out a place for their nascent brands. Open to eligible candidates from across the globe, the incubator aims to break down barriers to luxury fashion by operating an initial anonymous application review process that will encourage original voices to candidates from across the globe.

The winning three designers or design duos will claim a year-long programme of workshops and one-to-one coaching with leading mentors in the industry, providing them with the skills needed to not only launch a brand but sustain it in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Each winning talent will then design and develop their very own responsibly sourced and produced ready-to-wear menswear collection to be made globally available on Mr Porter in September 2022.

Applications are open now until 6th June 2021. Think you’ve got it? Apply here.
