quality over quantity
The last 12 months have demonstrated that we all have too many clothes. Many of them we have outgrown or simply no longer want to wear, meaning we rotate between a limited selection of old favourites. Berluti have cottoned on to this evolution in dress by introducing a brand new Essentials line that distills core elements of the Berluti man into a pared-down take on luxury dressing.

Spanning ready-to-wear, shoes and leather goods, Berluti’s new line was conceived by creative director Kris Van Assche to cover every base in a man’s wardrobe. Let’s begin at the bottom and work our way up. Berluti have created their very first lace-up shoe for this line, one originally designed by Alessandro Berluti himself back in 1895, which they’ve combined with a loafer and an Oxford.
Moving up, Berluti’s trousers include a smartened take on the humble jean (available in blue and black) as well as a pair of tapered joggers with a waistband, presumably for once we start returning from long days at the office. Turtlenecks are worn beneath classic poplin shirts, while sweatshirts and hoodies embroidered with the brand’s Scritto motif complete the line’s leisurewear credentials. After something a bit smarter? Berluti have got you covered there, too. From the minimal, straight-cut wool coats to the sleek, single-breasted jackets, this is a day-to-night collection in every sense.
The Essentials will be available at Berluti stores from March 2021.
