Fendi have opened an Italian-style caffè inside Selfridges
By Finn Blythe | Fashion | 4 December 2020

For their latest pop-up venture at Selfridges, Fendi have transported a fully immersive slice of Italian street life into the heart of London. The Fendi Caffe will take over the store’s ground floor fourteen-seater champagne bar, transforming it into the sort of enticing establishment that is a staple of any Roman street corner.

Serving small bites, strong coffee and a selection of wintery cocktails, this is an insight into the Italian way of life, where ‘cafe’ and ‘bar’ can be used interchangeably and provide equally suitable hang-outs at night as they do in the day. Where Fendi’s Caffe diverts from tradition however is in its pink and yellow colour concept, which takes its cues from the brand’s recent Holiday collection.

For the Fendiphiles among us, this will be something of a paradise, particularly for those who’ve already personally acquainted themselves with the aforementioned collection and will match the decor perfectly. From plates to champagne glasses, coasters, napkins and menus, all in shades of pink and yellow and stamped with the FF monogram logo, it’s an Aladdin’s cave of rare Fendi merch. Once you’ve finished your Old Fashioned(s) and dabbed your mouth with a Fendi napkin, it’s only a short walk to peruse Fendi’s Holiday collection next door.
