What’s in-store?

A rundown on Dover Street Market’s new collections and special pieces
18 September 2020

As London Fashion Week gears up for an unusual season, Dover Street Market are keeping some semblance of normality via their seasonal special launches, installations and releases in time for the event.

Collection drops:

Ashley Williams’ FW20 collection arrives in-store, which saw air-sprayed portraits of cultural icons including the Mona Lisa to Albert Einstein reappropriated across the designer’s feminine silhouettes, while Marine Serre‘s hopeful FW20, in which the designer looked to make sense of our whirlwind world within a serene mindset is also available.

Elsewhere, South African womenswear label Thebe Magugu arrives to DSM after bagging the prestigious LVMH Prize last year – celebrated for progressive design work that incorporating motifs from Africa’s past within a contemporary mindset – and the FW20 collection of Eli Russell Linnetz’ eponymous line ERL is now stocked, taking inspiration from LA’s youth culture and spinning them into vibrant, contemporary looks.

Plus, as always, there’s a lovely new Comme des Garçons delivery ready for you to get your hands on.

Special pieces:

Luxury luggage brand Rimowa has teamed up with Moncler as part of the brand’s Genius platform, collaborating on a cutting-edge suitcase named Reflection, available at Dover Street Market now. Clad in Rimowa’s signature mirror-like finish, these cases are hard to miss due to the LED screen on the front of the suitcase which can be customised to whatever you like. We suggest, “Get out my way” for all airport visits.

Meanwhile, Eastpak have been busy with their own designer team-up, linking with Raf Simons on a ninth edition of their partnership. This time round, Simons has remixed Eastpak’s luggage silhouette with chains and patches with slogans from his FW20 collection, including ‘Solar Youth’.

Grub time:

Amongst all that shopping, be sure to head to DSM’s Rose Bakery, for your coffee fix and some tasty freshly-baked cakes. That’s where we’ll be. And whilst you’re there, pop into IDEA Books and treat yourself to a copy of the new HERO Summer Zine 4.
