A snake. Perhaps taking his cues from Alice Cooper or Britney (circa I’m a Slave 4 U), the designer’s latest Saint Laurent campaign casts Charlie Brown – a boa constrictor – alongside Zoe Kravitz, Freja Beha Erichsen, Binx Walton, Aylah Peterson, Elise van Iterson.

Shot by Juergen Teller in an arid desertscape, the models appear like futuristic natives, clad in Vaccarello’s SS20 designs: paisley embroidery, sci-fi shapes and pitch-black romance. From scaley prints to serpent-cast jewellery, snakes have been a recurring motif within Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent vision, here the slithery reptile gets its moment in the spotlight.
