Julien Dossena looks to the future with his debut menswear collection for Paco Rabanne

Since being appointed creative director of Paco Rabanne in 2013, Julien Dossena has injected the Parisian brand with energy and fresh ideas. Offering new takes on classic references (Audrey Hepburn’s mirrored dress from Two For the Road for FW18) and delivering them through original forms and ideas, the designer’s FW20 offering for Paco Rabanne’s fledgling menswear line combined all that he has brought to the brand over his seven-year tenure.



While liberally referencing 70s style – hearts, flowers, broad lapels and even broader shirt collars – Dossena has succeeded in bridging masculine and feminine, setting out a vision that, as with his womenswear, brings a much-needed dose of the here and now. With his custom blend of patterns, surface detail and textures, the collection that now goes on sale at the brand’s Paris flagship store is a commitment to modern attitudes of dress.
