Luca Guadagnino takes Fendi on a garden stroll
Fashion | 20 January 2020

Thanks to Fendi, you can now get a taste of the lush Italian countryside in London. Pitching up at Harrods for a special menswear piazza pop-up, the Roman fashion house is exclusively pre-launching its SS20 offering within a space inspired by the botanical, solar dream concept that surged through the collection.

Inspired by Silvia Venturini Fendi’s love of gardening – she grows roses, fruit and veg – Fendi’s SS20 wardrobe grew from the designer’s horticultural hobby: guests were invited to a beautiful garden whose gravel path became a makeshift runway, as models took a garden stroll in khaki overalls and transparent raincoats, carrying watering can bags as they went. The show’s sense of tranquillity was heightened by a dreamy soundtrack courtesy of acclaimed composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, selected specially by acclaimed Italian director Luca Guadagnino, who later created the house’s accompanying campaign and a special short video that can be seen below and at the Harrods pop-up.

The Fendi Men’s Piazza pop up is open until 6th February 2020 at Harrods, London.
