Yes, you read that title correctly. Jizz jazz pioneer Mac DeMarco has directed Iggy Pop‘s music video for his new track Sonali – and it’s a weird one.

Taken from Pop’s latest record, Free, as the Detroit musician croons (She won’t take my call when I am tipsy/Cause she’s on the wagon, just like a gypsy), we’re introduced to The Lizard Man (somewhat similar to the one played by DeMarco in his own video for Here Comes the Cowboy). Driving his pink and fluffy vintage Mercedes around a saccharine-lensed LA in the middle of rush hour, our scaly protagonist is en route to his reptilian girlfriend, played by DeMarco’s real-life partner Kiera McNally. Look out for the traffic jam sax solo.
