Haute Parfumerie

Hedi Slimane launches a new Celine fragrance collection
Fashion | 20 August 2019

Having already added a menswear branch to Celine, Hedi Slimane now launches the French house’s new ‘Haute Parfumerie’, marking Celine’s first line of scents since 1964’s Vent Fou.

Announced via a series of Instagram posts, the debut collection from Celine’s new fragrance line features eleven genderless scents “for day and night” – as revealed in a video documenting the manufacturing process and soundtracked by LA band Warm Drag. And remember, Hedi is no stranger to the fragrance market, fifteen years ago the designer launched a series of scents for Christian Dior while creative director of menswear.

Here, Slimane’s modernist design interests translate to the glass rectangular fragrance bottles: “True to the tradition of French perfumery, the maison Celine has called upon the essential know-hows of craftsmen glassblowers to master fire and air.” While the perfume box comes adorned in paper with a “Gran de Poudre” feel, embossed with “Grand Siècle” moldings and knotted with a black ottoman ribbon.

Set to launch late October exclusively at Celine boutiques, Hedi’s Celine world is taking shape.
