Lounging robots and surreal mermaids – artist Hajime Sorayama collaborates with Dior on a new swimwear range

Poised amongst an iridescent backdrop, Kim Jones showcases Dior’s new swimwear capsule collection in collaboration with Japanese contemporary artist Hajime Sorayama. Recalling the mythically futuristic image exuded from Jones’ pre-fall collection which was supervised by a female Olympian cyborg commissioned by Sorayama, two exclusive patterns (‘Seascape’ and ‘Hawaiian Robots’) collide as robotic muses kick back surrounded by exotic foliage and mermaids to create a melangic fantasy.

The collection presents an array of summertime apparel and accessories. Swim shorts, aloha shirts and lightweight jackets are complemented by a trio of leathergoods, an exclusive reimagination of Dior’s oblique sneakers, and beach towels.
