Good news alert! Luca Guadaginino, director of Call Me By Your Name, has begun working on a new television series for HBO titled We Are Who We Are – and he’s taking us back to picturesque Italy. Revealing the cast today via a series of Instagram portraits, the project stars Chloë Sevigny and rapper Kid Cudi alongside Alice Braga, Jack Dylan Grazer and Tom Mercier.

The plot centres around a group of American teenagers living on a US military base in Italy and, as told by HBO, will pivot on narratives of “friendship, first love and all the unknowns of being a teenager” – subjects Guadagnino knows well if Call Me By Your Name was anything to go by. The director earlier stated that the two protagonists “become close amid their posse of teenage friends, [and] think they’re a couple. But Fraser is experiencing confusing feelings about his identity and develops an innocent romantic connection with an older soldier.”

There is currently no word on a release date – watch this space.
