Prada’s connection with China is nothing new. In 2017 the brand launched Prada Rong Zhai, a new cultural institution in Shanghai, housed in a historical western-style house previously owned by Rong Zongjing, a Chinese industrialist and national capitalist during the late Qing Dynasty. It was here that the Milanese house presented its 2018 Resort show.

“China has always occupied a prominent place in Prada’s imagination: in particular, the city of Shanghai and its rich cultural life,” says Miuccia Prada. “The attitude and identity of Shanghai, its dynamic fusions of past and present, old and new, are sources of constant exchange and interest.”

While the show will relocate to Shanghai, don’t fret, Prada will also present two events during Milan Men’s Fashion Week: a live music performance on 14th June at Fondazione Prada, and a presentation of the Men’s SS20 collection.
