For SS19, Stone Island is exploring the idea of workwear archetypes and utility fabrics, stitching the notion of industrial strength with their customary assortment of intelligent materials, from thermosensitive to camouflage and weatherproof.

Key elements from this season’s collection are showcased throughout the accompanying campaign film below, including the Panama Placcato capsule. Always looking to push innovative fabric technologies, here the brand have developed a rough cotton fabric with a special pigmented resin that softens with every wash (allowing the wearer to adapt to their personal needs) and a special heat-activated camouflage fabric inspired by the morphing pattern of an octopus that, from a distance creates a vivid optical illusion – like a wearable magic eye picture only without the headache.

Elsewhere, the Italian brand has dug through their vast archives, pulling from graphic platings that adorn jersey and jacket alike, while technical outdoor pieces employ super-lightweight Paclite technology that is both breathable, windproof and water-tight.

The Stone Island SS19 collection is available now at StoneIsland.co.uk.
