Move over John Lewis, there’s another British retail giant flexing their festive muscles with a take on the hallowed Christmas ad. Some six weeks before the big day, an all-English ensemble of Kristin Scott Thomas, M.I.A, Matt Smith, Naomi Campbell and even her mum, Valerie Morris-Campbell, take to the stage in full Burberry clobber for a series of Christmas snapshots familiar to us all.

Shot and directed by British artist and photographer Juno Calypso, Close Your Eyes and Think of Christmas spotlights the rituals of the season, from those we cherish to the one’s we dread. Whether it’s the weather that stubbornly denies us a white Christmas year upon year, our much maligned rail network that scuppers Christmas getaways with annual reliability or the more cherished elements of family and feasting, the good and the bad are all captured through a single continuous take of Calypso’s lens.

The film also gives a first glimpse at the hotly anticipated Burberry x Vivienne Westwood collaboration. Set for release in December, two generations of Campbell preview the collection with plaid-heavy looks that will doubtlessly fly off the shelves.

“Being part of the festive campaign has been nothing short of incredible.” said Naomi of the new campaign, “Over the past few years, Burberry has become known for these campaigns and I feel honoured to take part in another one. I have always loved Burberry for its distinctive British feel and I am so excited to work alongside a cast which includes my own mother, Valerie. Working with her brought back so many memories of the holidays and traditions I had growing up – so that felt extremely special.”
