Hedi Slimane reveals a new Celine logo
By Finn Blythe | Fashion | 3 September 2018

Celine have become the latest high profile house to revamp their logo, removing the accent over the ‘é’ for a new streamlined name that reverts back to their 1960s logo.

In typical Hedi Slimane style, his first major move at the label since taking over at the beginning of this year is one of understated subtlety. Not only will the ‘e’ be accent-less but the characters spaced closer together and joined by the word ‘Paris’. According to the label’s Instagram announcement, the change comes, “to enable a simplified, more balanced proportion, evoking the Celine collections of the 1960’s where the accent wasn’t used often.” For the rest of us who never got our heads round the necessary keyboard shortcut, it means an end to the copy and paste tedium.

Hedi Slimane will debut his Celine vision during Paris Fashion Week later this month.
