From the street to the gallery into the multi dimensional

History: Adam Neate Portraits 2006–2013
Art | 19 November 2013

Adam Neate shows 35 of his portraits in new exhibition History: Adam Neate Portraits 2006–2013 at London’s Elms Lesters Painting Rooms.

The British painter has been described as one of the world’s best-known street artists, given thousands of works away for free and is a protagonist of transferring the discipline indoors into the gallery space, selling out shows and gaining recognition from the Tate and National Portrait Gallery amongst others.

Always challenging himself and his practice, Neate has most recently been exploring a language of ‘Dimensional Painting’ in which the viewer has to address their perception – moving vantage point shifts foreground and background, volume and space.
