Barely a year after founding his gender-fluid eponymous label, Parisian-based designer Ludovic de Saint-Sernin has been revealed as the 2018 winner of the ANDAM Creative Label Prize. “I’m overjoyed to win the ANDAM Creative Label Prize.” he told us. “It’s so important to have my work validated by ANDAM and all its jury members! Most importantly, it means I can continue to create and take my label to the next level.”

Selected from a total of fourteen finalists by a panel of 24 jury members – including Saint Laurent CEO Francesca Bellettini and Yves Bougon, CEO of Condé Nast France – Saint-Sernin picked up the prestigious award alongside Antonin Tron, who won the Grand Prize for his Atlein label, and Stéphanie d’Heygère who picked up the Accessories Prize.

The news marks a major achievement for Saint-Sernin, whose fledgling label, despite only being in its third season, has garnered global attention for its sensual, non-binary approach and will now benefit even further from the endowments of the prize. Not only will the label receive a €100,000 injection into its operations, it will also be provided with expert mentorship programmes aimed at better defining and implementing the brand’s digital strategy. In addition, Galerie Lafayette has pledged to buy Ludovic de Saint-Sernin’s next two collections and give him exclusive visibility in its Paris flagship store – part of their plan to promote young design talent. Oh, and as if all that wasn’t enough, the label will also receive additional strategic and commercial mentorship from fashion distributors Tomorrow Ltd. We look forward to the ‘next level’ of Ludovic Saint-Sernin.
