For their debut collaboration, Camper and Kiko Kostadinov are conquering the great outdoors. While not exactly virgin territory for Camper, whose archive 1997 TEIX boot informs the silhouette of the new design, it’s a brave new world for London designer Kostadinov, whose background in uniform and workwear adds a utilitarian edge to FW18 that we’re very much in favour of.

“Looking through the Camper archives, the TEIX immediately struck me with the progressive silhouette and construction” said Kostadinov of the collaboration. Available in three different looks, the design is a hybrid of structure and function, combining Kiko’s voluminous reinvention of the classic design with GORE-TEX levels of practicality and a sole so chunky it would put most orthopaedic cushioning to shame. The result is a shoe that will feel equally at home in Peckham as it will in the Pennines, testament to the idea of the ‘new outdoors’ that helped shape the design.
