See Virgil Abloh preview a new Louis Vuitton suit at the Met Gala

Themed Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, Monday night’s Met Gala more than lived up to its extravagant reputation: Rihanna came dressed as the Pope (courtesy of John Galliano – who else?), Jared Leto resembled Jesus Christ (post-Gucci shopping spree) and Katy Perry looked a bit like Alan Rickman’s winged Dogma character Metatron.

But, going somewhat unnoticed in the mix, newly appointed menswear artistic director of Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh appeared in a cream tuxedo, offering a first peek at the designer’s vision for LV, which he will debut at a runway show in Paris this June. Complete with embroidered panels – in the style of Catholic stained glass windows – and a pair of his Nike “The Ten” Air Jordan 1s, Abloh certainly got us praying that June hurries the hell up.
