More than four decades after former Kraftwerk members Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother formed Neu! in 1971, the reverberation carved by the German krautrock trailblazers continues to be felt today. From David Bowie through Damon Albarn, Thom Yorke and the rolling improv-rhythms of London shredders Yak, Neu!’s unique style of driving Motorik drumbeats and evocative soundscapes has proved a rich source of inspiration for minds willing to bypass creative barriers.

For its SS18 season, Carhartt WIP pays homage to Neu!’s innovation and influence, dedicating a special capsule collection to the iconic band. Applying the band’s iconic motif to pocket t-shirts, socks, tote bags and white overalls – you know, like those famously worn by Klaus Dinger himself – the collection also sees Grönland Records produce 1000 copies of the rare 1972 Super/Neuschnee 7″ single. Exclusively available at Carhartt WIP stores, these singles are prime record collection gems – so don’t wait around.
