Pyer Moss’ new collab puts 19th century cowboys in futuristic footwear
By Alex James Taylor | Fashion | 6 April 2018

For FW18, Pyer Moss designer and founder Kerby Jean-Raymond looked to the black cowboys of the 19th century – specifically Bill Pickett, one of the first rodeo stars of the era. Set to a stirring gospel choir medley of black empowerment anthems such as Kendrick Lamar’s Alright, Jean-Raymond’s Western ranchers may have retained their classic leathers and shearling, but they’d exchanged their cowboy boots for the designer’s new Reebok collaboration – titled, DMX Fusion by Pyer Moss.

Remixing the sportswear brand’s classic DMX Fusion silhouettes, the New York designer drew inspiration from air drop containers and the multiple straps used to tie them down. Here, this reference translates into a series of laces that weave between each other, encouraging the wearer to alter them according to their own personal style – from rodeo to rodeo drive, Pyer Moss has you covered.

The DMX Fusion Experiment by Pyer Moss is available now on Reebok.com
