Digging through its vast archives, Ralph Lauren has brought back its iconic Autumn 1993 Snowboarding collection – featuring the now-iconic ‘Snow Beach’ graphic. Immortalised in hip-hop history by Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon in the music video Can It Be All So Simple, the line has become one of the brand’s best selling – and most desired.

Having previously dropped a series of colour-block reissues (including that yellow, red and blue jacket Raekwon loved so much), this week sees the release of a special black and white capsule. This monochrome line comprises of eight new styles that take their cues from the original Snow Beach style, each interpreted via a monochrome palette. The line-up includes a double-knit tech rugby with signature patches, a water-resistant and insulated  nylon poncho, and a camp hat with printed lettering.

Another nod to the that late 80s/early 90s Ralph Lauren era, the brand tapped photographer Tom Gould for its new campaign imagery. The connection? Gould documented three decades of Brooklyn’s Lo-Life Crew, a troop of young men from Crown Heights and Brownsville that took on Ralph Lauren Polo as their uniform and it wasn’t uncommon for them to swarm stores and rack as much of the brand stuff as they could.

So mark your calendars for 1st February, this new drop is sure to fly off the shelves – in one way or another.

The Black and White Snow Beach collection drops on 1st February. More information here.
