Creative director Demna Gvasalia has announced that Vetements is set to return to the runway show cycle once again, having previously stated that the French brand would step away from the traditional fashion show system in favour of conceptual presentations.

The new collection will debut this January at Paris Men’s Fashion Week; a major addition for the menswear schedule given the lose of brands such as Givenchy and Saint Laurent who have recently opted to present co-ed shows during womenswear following new designer appointments.

Known for its eclectic, style influenced by youth subculture and a wicked provocative streak, Vetements has ruffled feathers on the fashion scene since its debut in 2014. Since its inception, the collective behind the brand have previously showed their collections in an underground sex club, a restaurant and a church – so all eyes will be on the show address for FW18.

This announcement swiftly follows the news that Balenciaga will be combining its men’s and women’s collections – further proof that Gvasalia wants to shift the traditionally rigid Fashion Week guidelines throughout his output.

Vetements will show in Paris on 19th January during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
