seismic shift
Balenciaga has announced it will be consolidating its men’s and women’s show on one runway starting from FW18.
The provocative Vetements founder behind Balenciaga’s creative direction, Demna Gvasalia, broke the news yesterday, in a move that follows the likes of Kenzo, Burberry, Calvin Klein, who have all made the move to co-ed shows.

Showing during Paris Fashion Week in February, the show will reflect Gvasalia’s recent revamp of the Kering-owned company’s menswear business. The house also announced that it will introduce men’s pre-collections, beginning with a pre-fall range to be revealed in January.
Back in June, Demna announced that his brainchild, Vetements, will be stepping away from the fashion show system. Now that the Georgian designer is focusing all of his efforts on one show, our expectations are high.
