Show of solidarity
At Monday night’s NFL game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals, the Cowboys’ players, staff and owner, Jerry Jones, all took a knee during the national anthem in protest against President Donald Trump.
The latest in a series of protests by NFL players, this weekend more than 200 players knelt, locked arms, sat, prayed, or stayed in their locker rooms during the anthem. Speaking at a Republican rally on Friday, Donald Trump described those who players who took part in the protest as “sons of bitches”, before responding in a series of tweets.
If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend!

The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger

Basketball star LeBron James – who endorsed Hilary Clinton – praised the players who protested against Trump, and accused the US president of “using sports to try and divide us”.
The NFL protests started last August, when then–San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick remained seated before a game, in protest at the treatment of black Americans. Since then, many other NFL players have joined the protest, which has turned into a stand against Donald Trump’s presidency.
On Monday, San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich also spoke out against Donald Trump, calling his reaction ‘delusional’. See a full video of his speech below.
