John Lawrence Sullivan FW24 took inspo from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Donald Judd
Taking his inspiration from the designs of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and the sculptures of Donald Judd, John Lawrence Sullivan’s Arashi Yanagawa took a distinctly constructivist approach to clothing for FW24. Mies van der Rohe’s famed phrase “less is more” was palpable throughout (and literally too, it appeared printed on tops and t-shirts) while the clothes themselves felt like an offshoot of the austere but efficient clothing designs of Alexander Rodchenko and Varvara Stepanova.

At the heart of the collection is an orange blossom scent, which has featured as part of A.P.C.’s candle n°4 since 1997, and is also one of the key ingredients in the family recipes of founder Jean Touitou’s mother, Odette. Celebrating the stress-relieving properties produced from the bitter orange flower – neroli – utilised by 18th-century apothecaries, its fresh, natural tones are distilled as a hand lotion, a body lotion, a lip balm, a cologne, a body soap and a hand soap.

First, it was Bond Street during London Fashion Week (who could forget Burberry Street?), then it was Norman’s Cafe in North London, and now it’s the turn of Harrods to get a distinctly Burberry makeover. For the month of February, the iconic Harrods green has made way for Burberry’s knight blue. Harrods’ recognisable awnings are reimagined as peeled-back tent canopies in a seasonal Burberry Check, whilst windows are decorated with camping components such as guy ropes, draped waterproof fabrics and carabiners.

It’s a huge year in the sport of aquatics. Not only will the Olympic Games take place this summer, but the 21st World Aquatics Championships will be competed in Doha. OMEGA has proudly served as the Official Timekeeper of World Aquatics events since 1973 and will continue their streak with this year’s edition.
As well as timing every second of action, OMEGA’s role in aquatic sports has included the development of the most vital timekeeping technologies. This year they will be bringing their quartz-driven Quantum Timer, with an enhanced resolution of one millionth of a second. Swimming touchpads that, as soon as an athlete hits the touchpad at the end of a race, their time is automatically stopped, and a precise finish time is given. And high-speed cameras that, if you recall, once determined that Michael Phelps had beaten Milorad Cavic by a hundredth of a second at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.
