Off to sea

Emporio Armani took to the high seas for FW24

Inspired by the impetuous, beguiling characteristics of the Atlantic Ocean, Emporio Armani toyed with uniform and functionality this season. A cast of characters from those who sail the high seas saw sailors, cabin boys, engineers and officers land upon Armani’s structured silhouettes and nautically charged pieces.

Tailoring was high on the agenda, offering a series of sharp-shouldered, immaculately cut blazers and voluminously pleated trousers. Outerwear transcended from billowing leather overcoats to sailor-collard bomber jackets, paired with dungarees and rubberised shorts. Fashioned in an easily interchangeable colour palette of black, grey and navy, metallic embroidery and tweed motifs were peppered throughout in a welcome touch of Armani decadence. Accessories arrived as baker-boy caps, berets, lace-up leather boots and bags resembling suitcases, sending Giorgio Armani’s men off to sea.
