Let’s go

Canali FW24 was a nature break for city slickers
By Alex James Taylor | Fashion | 15 January 2024

Canali took for a good old-fashioned nature walk. In our double-breasted wool peacoats, beanies, zip-up knits and Prince of Wales hooded overcoats, we’re ready for action – immaculate tailoring is just as good indoors as out, right?

Nature-inspired tricot patterns became textural details while Canali’s distinctive Italian craft was expressed through a ‘Double wardrobe’ technique, translating the brand’s unlined, seamless woollen and cashmere garments across the entire wardrobe. Shearling-collared bombers were perfect companions, as were backpacks, capes and wearable leather coin-purses.

The collection was presented in a spotlight venue, with models standing between wildbushes like suited explorers looking for adventure (but not too much). “An ode to the outdoors,” the show notes read, “tinged with evocative brushstrokes and an understated, whispered charm rooted in know-how and sartorial mastery.”
