On film
Anthony Vaccarello has released a new layer of his debut campaign for Saint Laurent, in the form of a quintet of short videos filmed by photographer Nathalie Canguilhem.
The videos (linked below) follow on from the ad campaign shot by the American artist Collier Schorr. Models appear topless and within a minimal aesthetic, giving a further teaser to what might be in store for Vaccarello’s interpretation of Saint Laurent when he debuts his SS17 womenswear collection at Paris Fashion Week later this year.

Titled #YSL01, the campaign is Vaccarello’s first for Saint Laurent since being appointed creative director in April. Known for his rock ’n’ roll take on glamour, the Italian-Belgian Vaccarello designed his own line and collections for Versus Versace before being tapped for Saint Laurent. His entry followed Hedi Slimane’s recent departure from the Parisian fashion house founded by Yves Saint Laurent in 1961.
With a series of film teasers and shots from the campaign staggered on the @YSL Instagram account in recent weeks, the anticipation for Vaccarello’s debut show in October is building.
