Nick Knight OBE is to be honoured with The Isabella Blow Award at the British Fashion Awards for his unparalleled contribution to both the British, and global fashion-industries.

Conventionality has always been an enemy of Knight’s. Subverting fashion orthodoxy has become his calling-card.

Innovating photographical elements and engaging with readers – particularly adapting with the ever-changing, technological advances in image creation and manipulation over the past three decades – has delivered a plethora of epic editorials in AnOther, i-D, Vogue, V Magazine – and more – as well as campaigns for McQueen, Galliano, Yamamoto and directing award-winning videos with the likes of Bjork, Gaga and Kanye West. Basically, a heavy hitting list of era-defining creatives and publications – from 1982 to now.

Pioneering in the digital continued through his own platform, SHOWstudio, which was launched in the millennium. Filmmakers, creative commentators, stylists, photographers and artists have all contributed to the site’s lively debates and inventive moving-imagery.

Edward Enninful, Lady Amanda Harlech and Professor Louise Wilson OBE have all received the prestigious Award – it’s a biggy.
