Last month saw Anthony Vaccarello launch Saint Laurent Productions, a dedicated film division to expand the creative impact of the Parisian Maison – first project? Oh, just an incredibly stylish neo-western directed by Pedro Almodóvar and starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal.

Now, Saint Laurent Productions announces another work by one of cinema’s most eminent figures: the late Nouvelle Vague pioneer, Jean-Luc Godard. According to a statement by the Maison, Saint Laurent Productions will present a special short art project Godard was working on before his sad passing last September. Vaccarello, who produced the filmmaker’s final project, refers to the project as a “Trailer of a movie that will never exist”. Of working with the French auteur, Vaccarello added: “I greatly admired Jean-Luc Godard, one of cinema’s most influential masterminds.”

While more specific details are yet to emerge, the work is set to be screened as part of the official selection of the 76th Cannes Festival, alongside Almodóvar’s film, Strange Way Of Life.
