Time for yeah

Paul Smith SS15

Sir Paul Smith does bohemian sport it all too well, yet it’s a sophisticated, luxe sense of hedonistic tailoring versus street that he has leant towards in more recent seasons.

It was 60s strawberry fields hedonism for FW14 and before that, magic mushroom prints for SS14. This season it was scrubbed and sheened with a new sense of loungewear polish.

The vision was fringed and printed, silk and satin jacket panels and shorts in deep dusty blue running coherently alongside a loose sense of styling – tees and shirts were left un-tucked, bags slung across body and summer scarves falling to below the waist.

A peeled banana print sweatshirt was fun, especially when given space to breathe as the excess was calmed down with a series of charcoal and pastel shorts suiting.

“Yeah!” was the exclamation emblazoned upon a white tee in the final look. The collection’s vivacity, summed up perfectly in one word.
